Dr. Bataringaya-Sekalala is a highly trained and experienced orthodontist practicing in Uganda with a special interest in Cleft Lip and Palate care. She earned her BDS dental degree from Makerere University and graduated cum laude with a Masters in Orthodontics from the University of the Western Cape.

Dr. Bataringaya-Sekalala is a senior lecturer in Orthodontics at the Makerere University and runs a private specialist orthodontic practice, which is exclusively dedicated to comprehensive orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She is absolutely committed to providing the finest orthodontic treatment available in Uganda in an environment that is open, friendly and enriching with state-of-the-art technology. Her mission and passion is to create beautiful smiles. This lecturer, wife and mother of four strives to provide the highest quality of care possible for her patients by regularly attending orthodontic courses and conferences to keep up to date with the ever-advancing field of orthodontics.

She is a member of the Uganda Dental Association and the South African Society of Orthodontists.

“What I really love about my job is getting to know the patients and their families over the course of treatment and seeing their self esteem and confidence grow month on month. It is a humbling and rewarding experience knowing I have been a part of their transformation. The joy they have when the braces come off is priceless!

When I am not creating smiles, I love to spend time with family or gardening. If I wasn’t an orthodontist I would probably have a tea shop or a cacti and orchid plant nursery.”
